Megan Martin Awarded 2019 Paul Brite Art Scholarship
The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is pleased to announce Megan Martin of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School as the winner of the 2019 Paul Brite Art Scholarship. Ms. Martin will be awarded $1,500 to attend Florida Atlantic University.
Currently a high school senior, Ms. Martin has been taking art classes for 5 years and has recently begun working with watercolor as a primary medium. Though mostly realistic, her artwork floats into other realms as she works to develop her style and technical skills. Using personal experiences and memories, Megan works to reflect a part of herself in everything she does. She has proudly exhibited her work in the All Stars Exhibit for the past two years and recently received a 2019 Scholastic Arts and Writing Gold Key for her work “Licking Your Wounds”.
Ms. Martin’s love of the Arts also includes art history courses, visiting art museums and reading books on her favorite artists. “The Arts have not only shaped my past, but they will shape my future as I continue to grow and fine-tune my skills and knowledge.” says Ms. Martin.

THANK YOUS!!
Part of the Festival’s purpose is to support other art non-profits in Northwest Broward. Each year we give free booths to as many of these groups as we can accommodate. You, our supporters, should share in the “Thank Yous”. Below is an excerpt from a letter we received from the Friends of Music and a photo of a framed piece from the Acton Foundation which gives youths a chance to be crafting business entrepreneurs.
