Art as Fashion Showcased at Coral Springs Festival of the Arts 2019
(Coral Springs, Florida, January 21, 2019) – The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is excited to announce a new exhibit to this year’s lineup of events. This unique display called “Art as Fashion” is presented by Atlantic Wallpaper and Décor of Pompano Beach. The exhibit will feature dresses made entirely of wallpaper and designed by the staff of this unique wallpaper showroom.
Wallpaper designs have come a long way in the last several years. Today’s wallpaper choices now include a multitude of styles and surfaces including grasscloth, cork, mica, textiles, wood, stone, and fabric backed vinyl textures. While trying to find new ways to market and merchandise these unique wallcoverings, Tim Quinn and his staff came up with the idea of using the wallpaper like fabric. They began designing dresses inspired by the textures and patterns of their wallcoverings. These intricate designs take between 70 and 80 hours to complete and can utilize up to 2,000 pieces of wallpaper. “We wanted to create a completely visual and fun experience for customers to shop for wallcoverings. This is not your grandmother’s wallpaper!” says Tim Quinn.
Join us at the Festival on Saturday, March 16 th and make your way to the North Stage from Noon to 5:00PM to see these unique and beautiful creations. You may be inspired to create your own feature wall using one of the patterns and textures showcased.
