Cindy Silva Named Signature Artist for Coral Springs Festival of the Arts 2020
The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is pleased to announce Cindy Silva as the 2020 Signature Artist. The winning entry, entitled “Beach Wishes 2” depicts a young woman on a colorful beach with whimsical flowers, waves and clouds. Mrs. Silva’s painting will be featured in the Festival’s advertisements and on T-shirts and posters sold at the festival. She also earned a $500 stipend and a complimentary booth at the Festival where she will display and sell her artwork.
Cindy Silva is a Long Island born painter who stylizes her figurative work with a fanciful twist. Her acrylic on canvas paintings evoke feelings of love and beauty in the world around us all. Her goal is to inspire happiness and optimism through the colors, techniques and moods she includes in her paintings. She brings a playful vision to her art by combining realistic subjects and adding color and whimsy. “Sometimes it can be a dark world out there and I just want to spread some happiness!” says Mrs. Silva.
The Annual Signature Artist Competition attracts submissions from sculptors and two dimensional artists. Pieces are judged on original voice, unique style, mastery of medium, technique and professionalism. Entries were submitted from artists across Broward and Palm Beach counties.
The 16th Annual Festival of the Arts at The Walk of Coral Springs will be held on March 21st and 22nd, 2020. The Festival will feature a professional juried arts and crafts show with over 200 fine artisans and crafters and in addition, will host Gardenfest. Throughout the weekend, patrons will enjoy a wide variety of live music, dance exhibitions, theater and literary performances and a children’s area.

Friends of Music
Our first concert is on October 26th at St. Mary Magdalene at 7:30, featuring Simon Molina and his wonderful son, Juan, playing the piano. We are so proud to have them, and you will all be so impressed with their talent!. Next, on January 27th, is Fandango, from Chicago, but originally from Spain, the UK, Yugoslavia and the USA. They are a unique ensemble of flute, guitar, violin and cello. They’ll also include our popular side-by-side selections, too. Then on April 14th, we’re happy to have the Florida Brass, which includes several former Philharmonic musicians, a former member of the Dallas Brass and other great brass performers. The program is “Bach to Pop”, and will be a lot of fun and will also include side by side.
